Master Gardeners of Niagara yearly commitments and activities
- Catharines Public Library, 54 Church Street
First Saturday in each month for 2 hours from 9.30 to 11.30.
Running May every weekend until the first weekend in September.
Answering questions from the public.
- Rice Road Greenhouses, 1361 Rice Road, Fonthill.
First weekend (Saturday) in May for 7 weekends until mid June.
Two hour sessions from 10 to 12, and 12 to 2. (two Master Gardeners per session required). Assisting the public in the garden centre regarding planting, planning, designing, etc.
- Country Basket Niagara, 10008 Lundy’s Lane, Niagara Falls.
First weekend (Sunday) in May until middle June. Two hour sessions from 10 to 12 and 12 to 2. Assisting public with questions regarding planting, planning, designing etc.
- Shaw Guild Garden Tour, Niagara-on-the-Lake.
In June Two sessions 10 to 1. 1 to 4.
Attending the gardens on the tour and helping the public with any questions on the individual gardens that are selected.

Answer horticultural questions weekly for entire year
- Hospice Niagara, St. Catharines.
Four times a year March, June, September, December.
Three members demonstrate planting or making cactus dishes, flowers in cups, or small items to be taken home with the participants. Each demonstration lasts about 2 hours.
- Niagara Parks, School of Horticulture (Hands On)
Depending on seasonal requirements having Hands On once a month in the Niagara Botanical Gardens. This involves planting seeds, bulbs and plants along with various pruning activities.
- Plant Sale Fundraiser, Vineland Research Centre,4890 Victoria North, Lincoln
Friday Setup 9-12, Saturday Sale 9-12
Members are asked to pot up plants either from the previous fall or in the spring of the year of the plant sale. (Minimum of 10 plants).
Members volunteer on the Friday for set-up, pricing and arrangement of plants. On Saturday members sell the plants to the public and answer any questions. This is one of our major fundraisers.
9. Monthly MG Meetings, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre.
Second Thursday each month, (except June, July, August).
General meeting for all members, and also the public are invited to attend. Interesting speakers each month with various topics, (trees, plants, bees, pesticides, etc.).
10. Seedy Saturday:
